which tint should i get

I am getting my windows tinted on monday, I told them that i want 15% but now i am having second thoughts. I am thinking bout doing 5% now, but am not sure. WHat do you guys think looks better on a black camaro? Thanks for the help

here a little tip.
you want your windows to be a little lighter than your car or almost identical. Since you have a black car, 15 might be perfect or a little too much depending on how clean you keep your car.

also, how dark do you want it inside? The only thing I don't really like about my tint is that I have to roll the windows down to see anything on the side.

i bought my car with the tint already on it, so i'm not sure what % my tint is, but it's almost perfect. It's not TOO dark and not too light imo.

You also might wanna determine how dark it'll make the back window look since that's where the majority of the tint is gonna be (night driving, etc all come into determination with this).

i probably didn't help any, and probably just made the situation worse, but... :D

depends on what you want and how strict the cops are around you. 15% is every bit illegal as 5% in MOST cases, but it is entirely up to you what you want to get. Check your local tint laws here for more info. I have 5% on mine and love it.

I keep my car very clean, but i dont want the tint to be darker than the paint, so should I stay with 15% or go a little lighter? Thanks alot guys

whoops. sorry, I had totally forgotton about tint laws.

according to that page New Mexico is "The most liberal tint law in the country"

although.. I have been stopped a couple times because they couldn't see my temp sticker from the dealer in the back window because of the tint...

i'd stay with 15% though..

It's just me, but I made the rear window dark and the side windows a little lighter so I could see better at night.

I just thought of something.

when my parents bought their Monte Carlo (new back in 1996) the dealership had this little glass thing with the different tint shades on it so that you could pick what % you wanted your windows tinted if you did decide to tint them.

you might wanna see if the place you're getting your windows tinted at has that little 'sample' thing and hold it up to your window so you can see the way it'll look (tint and the paint together)

WOW! 5% is dark, i think i want something a little lighter, does anyone have pics of 15% on a black car? But cixelsyD21, ur car looks awesome, but 5% is a little too dark for my taste.

I had 18% on my black firebird and it looked pretty nice, however I wanted it to be a little darker. I think on my WS6 I'm going with the totally blacked out look of the 5%. I know it's illegal but it looks badass :D Make sure you know what you want before you have them put it on. Maybe see some samples first. Goodlook and post some pics when you have it done. Just for your information, 18% is just as illegal as 5% in FL. 28% is the legal limit. If you want 5%, go for it! Its not that bad from the inside, and looks totally sweet from the outside.

you guys are lucky. here in louisiana the tint limit for front side is like 40%. it sucks.

Could be worse, RI and PA can't have any tint at all. Whether that stops them or not is another story.

actually in PA the side windows are allowed to be 35% i belive, b/c i tinted my friends mustang and his dad said the same thing that he couldnt have any tint, but he found osme documentation on the net and showed it to him and he was allowed 35% on his driver/passenger side....
but u know what i say, get 5% it looks damn good on any car. :D
