What is on/ What happened to my car??

Since about a month ago, right behind the drivers side door, but before the gas door, there are the *dull* spots all over. It's gotten worse and worse. Now it's one big dull spot. I've tried waxing it, using rubbing compound then waxing again, claybar, everying. Could it be the clearcoat? Help :(

it sounds like your clear coat is peeling off. or maybe your paint is fading. this is especially common on red cars.

clear coat coming off. if the car is hit w/ wind or dust, the side hit w/ it will lose it's clearcoat first.

So i'm guessing the only way to fix this is to have it repainted?

Yeah, just sand down to the base color coat and get 1 layer of base color and several layers of clear coat sprayed on there.
