• ws8 kit...........

heu guys whats up?First post on this site ever!..... -anyway,the other day i was browsin ebay trying to decide wether to buy a 98+ trans am,or firebird ws8 and perform a engine swap when i stumbled across a 97 firebird ws8.I had no idea these were produced! From the really foggy pics i think it looked nice but it was so foggy i cant tell.I was wondering if anybody has high quality pictures of this car as now im planning on putting more work into my 94 3.4 with this kit before i buy my new car.Preferrably on a white car but i need these pics. Thanks iwannaduramax@wmconnect.com

Are you refering to the w68?

Personaly I wouldn't let this be a determining factor in buying a car, you can always just but an fx kit and have it installed (keep in mind price of paint and install). As for buying a firebird vs a T/A or Formula I guess that depends. A V-8 swap can be quite a challenge from what I hear, all of the small things will kill you in the end. A T/A has a different body (fascia, side skirts, rear and fin) which would take alot of work to replicate (not to mention interior differences). If you have no preference over body styleing and have no problem with performing a complete engine swap the firebird with an LS1 has the bonus of v-6 insurance(depending on ins company). Total cost between a firebird w/swap and formula I would believe to be about the same with swap being potentialy higher. One option could be to mod a v-6; with a major power adder a v-6's performance can come close to a ls1 (look into tiago's turbo kit). If finances aren't a problem you could run your v-6 hard until it goes and sell your kit to put towards a v-8 or rebuild your v-6 with much stronger internals. These v-6's are mostly underestimated although the potential of a ls1 is much much greater given deep enough pockets.
