Pewter that looks beautiful... I'm thinking about getting a coupe cans of red and doing them on my engine.
I'll do a couple things but what do you guys think of painting both valve covers? Do you think the paint will withstand pretty good on them?
AcidDragon what color car do you have?
Sorry AcidDragon, duh there right there, lol. Umm personally I think a candy green would look really cool. Any kind of green for that matter. Thats if they sell that color.
So I'm still wondering will this paint withstand really high temperatures? I guess i'll have to find out.
AcidDragOn: this paint is a spray. I removed the STB and hung it by a hook in the garage ceiling and painted it that way. I dont know that any of three colors they offer would look good with the green :( but you could use high-temp engine paint in green or silver!
Ted: Thanks :D This paint is made to withstand up to 500 degrees and is for use on engine parts etc. Take a look at Duplicolor's sight about the paint. They in fact show some valve covers painted there :D
00silverz28: The blue is the exact same color as the blue anodized things that Mallory Billet sells. I have the Phoenix shift knob in that color and its an exact match. I took the pics last night with a flash so maybe thats why they look light??
Yes Yes Yes, that makes me so happy to hear Pewter, im jumping up and down like a school girl. Lol, well maybee not but thats definatley good news.
Thanks
Humm. Yea, that could work to. I just said red cause i just bought a STB from W68firebird97 and i'm waiting to get it and its already painted red. But hey, thats nothing some primer and new paint can't fix! What all can be painted in the engine?
Also, anyone know when this stuff will be at autozone and wally world?

I went to autozone today and they didn't have it, im gonna try kmart and walmart and a different autozone and if they don't have it i'm going to ask them to get it. I also contacted duplicolor and asked them when they were making a silver and green color. I'm not sure what all im painting on my engine yet. I want to paint the valve covers red but they're going to be hard to get off so i'm saving that for last. Oil cap, and radiator cap is going red. I'm still deciding on the whole intake all the way up where it says 3800 Series 2. Because i would like to do that all in silver if they ever come out with it. I'd do my whole engine silver, lol. I might find some other peices to do Red. I'll figure something out.
Michelle, your engine bay looks really good as do your calipers. I think I'm about to polish mine too and then paint the part where yours are black, red with that new paint.

Thanks Gerry! I not yet done with the engine bay ;) though. I got my air compressor and need a regulator for it then I'm all ready to go on the airbrushing! That should look cool with your calipers polished. I got some ideas of some more dress up from LS1.tech too now...just little ideas to fix the scruffy parts up
And Ted...NAPA can order that paint for you. I went in last Monday afternoon and it was in the next morning.
AcidDragOn...there's a guy somewhere I think on this board that has the same color car as yours and he did his calipers in a color that was an almost match. You could also try that Mirage paint that Duplicolor makes in Purple Green. Or go with a green metallic. What is the color of your car...Polo Green? Also I found out that Duplicolor is the company that makes the paint for GM.
PS. I added a couple new pics to that album I gave a link to.

I don't really wanna go with green, i'd rather have an accent color. I still am thinking about getting wither the red or yellow metalcast. If i could only find it somewhere.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
