What do you think about CHROMALUSION?

Its the color by dupont that changes dif colors

thought about getting my car painted that color...

I LOVE IT, but here is the catch:

i dont like it for an entire car. stripes yes, whole car, no.

someone on this forum has a black firebird with two chromeallusion stripes goin down it.

EDIT: here is a pic of ChromeaLusion paint on a T/A, and damn does it look sick. maybe ill change my mind about that whole "not the whole car" thing.

o yea, you can pick the primarily color and the other colors in it also.

for example, here is a probe with ChromeaLusion, but different colors than the T/A

instead of that big word, just say candy coated...been around for a little while...very expensive...very different...dont think it would look good as just stripes...and get a scratch in that paint....and theres no touch up paint...you repaint the whole panel...

not to be an a$$ but its not just candy. Candy is like a clear paint. you have to make layers to get certain colors

chromalusion is more like this quote

The tiny particles in this paint are an average size of 17 microns and are comprised of five layers of colorless film. Combined, these layers produce shimmering, vibrant colors. The microscopic layers act like a tiny prism: White light is reflected off the core layer, and split by outer layers into visible colors. As the viewing angle changes, so does the visible color. The color produced is controlled by precise variances measured in atoms in the prismatic layers. To make the mystichrome paint the chemist started with a green/purple chromaflair pigments that shift from bright green through a range of blues, and then to a purple. The chemist blended that with traditional black and green pigments for visual balance and deep, rich colors. As a finishing touch, they added a pinch of aluminum flakes to enhance bright, metallic sparkle. The resulting color shift is decribed by the chemist as a bright metallic topaz that transitions to colbalt blue, then to royal purple, and finally into deep onyx black. They said that the colors reminded them of chromed exhuast headers blued by intense heat.

I'm pretty sure theres new forms of color changing paint that don't require several layers, just one or two I believe. That gets rid of the problem of needing to repaint the whole car vs touch up and drops the price drasticaly although the paint is still 6+ times the cost of regular paint. You can choose a different color base coat that goes in with the color change but you can't select specific colors for the paint to change, however there are a few different choices of color changes out there.

oh, so thats ChromeaLusion. well, i dont think it looks all that great on an fbody. its not my style anyway. I can see how its cool on a showcar, and its definitely unique... thats for sure. not really my taste though.

I wondered the same thing for a while and I was told that it couldn't happen right now.. But I think that would be so awesome and if it ever is makeable I will get it because that would look badass!

Heck yeah man. It's like a combo of my favorite colors. There's a guy out here with a 300zx that's painted jet black, then it has like a midnight blue pearl clear coat. When you see it regularly all you can see is the black, but if it's in bright light, like a camera flash, the whole car suddenly shines deep blue. It looks amazing. I kinda want to see if I can do like silver and black in some combo like that.

I have the 2 stripes in this color. It was supposedly blue to red, but it is really purple to gold, but I still like it. What I really wanted was black to blue, so that it is like a phantom stripe, but they only had this in paint, but my stripes are vinyl (sreiously looks like paint though).

actualy i guy at my highschool a couple years back had it on his f150, i didnt ask what it as called though, it changed from black to silver. it was evil lookin
