  • Window Tint Questions

I was talking to a one of the Window Tinting Guys around Town and he tells me that they don't make a sheet of tint large enough for the rear hatchback of the F-Body. He also said that he could do it with 2 pieces, but it would look like crap before long (I do not have the rear window defroster).

Could anyone shed some light on this for me? Is he telling the truth or does he not know what he is doing (he has a good reputation for doing quality work from others in the area). Does anyone know where I can purchase a sheet large enough to cover the rear and then have him do it?

Any clarification is appreciated! This is my first time getting windows tinted...

I have had the same problem I have a 94 and the guy said that 94 are impossible to tint in one piece because of the curve at the bottom of the back glass he also told me I should break out my back window and have the insurance company put a new one in with defrosters

That guy is full of BS! No difference in 94 glass...

I've had mine tinted for 4 years, 1 piece... still looks great! (w/ defogger).

If you go to a shop and they say they can't do a 1 pc back, turn around and walk out.

mine is one piece. no problems. also has a life time warranty for defective tint & labor....so if it fades, or comes off, they'll replace @ no cost to me.

that guy is full of sh!t....go elsewhere.

If you look around you might be able to find a place with sheets big enough to do the entire window. dont get a 2 piece job.

Not a problem, I'll just shop around some more. Guess this guy doesn't have the same suppliers as everyone else...

                        Thanks!

seams? 2 peices? dude all those places that says they cant do it or there will be "seams" or they will 2 piece it are not professionals. you must be going to stereo shops or podunk tinting places where some punk kid thinks he can slap a sheet of tint on any window. i went with a place called SunTec, dont know if they are corporate but they did a fantastic job. no "seams" or 2 pieces. looks perfect.
