• Front Quarter panel repair

Well a couple weeks the unthinkable happened, a friend was drivin my car and hit a pole in the garage that made a crack in the front quarter panel that goes all the way threw. Its not huge but deffinatly noticable. I was talkin to another friend who is real good with cars who told me that since its fiberglass it will be really easy to patch up. So how would i go about doing this? because i dont want to take it to the dealership ccuz they want 815$ to do it which is total . Is there sum type of fiberglass repair kit i can get to fix it and then take it to get painted? Im trying to get a pic of it up but i dont have a digital camara so i dont htink ill be able to get one. thatnks for any advice.
peace

There is a type of caulking that you use. I can't remember the name of it. But we used it to repair cars that had bumpers that were plastic. It dries and you just sand it and level and prime and paint...

I'd pay a visit to your local junkyard. That's what they're there for.

I'm assuming that your just talking about the front fender. I had a crack in mine and I got a new Gm one fro like $100. It's not hard to install with just some basic tools. You could even have it painted beforehand as long as you're careful. Shouldn;t be that big of a deal. If you find any body shims just make sure to put them back where they weeon the new one.

Do you happen to know the part number for the fender?

The cheapest you will find a new fender for is $150 then about $300 to paint and good as new.

Re: Front Quarter panel repair

I know I'm digging this up from the dead, but I have the same problem and don't feel like buying a whole new quarter panel. If anyone could tell me the name of the repair kit or product to repair a crack in my front-left quarter panel it would be greatly appreciated!
