• any ideas on deflector (window) for t-top camaro (2000)?

Hey all, I'm new here but I searched and didn't see anything on this.

When I am driving in rainy conditions in my 2000 Camaro with T-Tops and need a smoke bad, I almost don't bother due to the excessive dripping into the car when the window is slightly open. I know it is raining and some is to be expected but it is excessive.

I am wondering:

Anyone else have this issue?

Is there a solution (similar to a deflector I guess) for T-Top Camaros?

I have to have my smokes on long trips!

Thanks... Not great news, but thanks hehe.

I am about 20miles north of Pittsburgh, drop me an email and we can compare notes. I'd like to start modding my Camaro and though you've got the '97 (pics?) I know you'd have oodles of pertinent information.

Same problem here with mine.
In my '94 and '02. You would think that they would have done something to correct it since then.
It drips right onto my power window/lock controls too. I'm afraid to even crack the window when it rains because I might short something out.

Oh man, don't smoke in your cars! Back when I smoked, I would always pull over or wait until I stopped. Smoking in your cars will cause all the white parts(window/door switches, dash writing, etc.) to turn yellow. Your cars are pretty new, so you haven't had to see that yet. That alone will lower your resale value. It really looks like crap.

well since I'm planning to be buried in it (and I know smoking will help that along), that's not such an issue.

Well, that's different. I completely forgive you. :D Let me know if there's any advice I can give to prevent the death of your car/you.

Nope. I've tried to remove all that yellow from buddys' cars even before I bought mine. It's pretty much embedded in the plastic. That's why I chose not to smoke in the car.

GM sells Ventvisors for the 4th gen F-Bodies... part #12495508.

However.... I don't *think* they will work with T-topped cars. Mine should be in sometime this week and I'll let you know if they look like they'll work with t-tops.

I guess there is ONE benefit to having a hardtop! ;)

Do an internet search for smokeless ashtrays. They were really popular in the '50s and '60s. A vacuum line is hooked up somehow and dumps ashes and smoke out of the cabin and into a jar in the engine compartment. You just dump the jar every so often. I'm guessing it works like a baby shop-vac. That might solve your problem.

I detail cars on the side. A really good cleaner I have used is the Armor-All cleaner wipes (multi-purpose cleaner). They do leave lint behind, but you can wipe it all down with a damp cloth afterwards.

I was detailing an old Opel, which the owner thought had tan interior. I used these wipes on it and it turned out it was white interior and was good as new!

how about if you cut the deflector so part of it stays on the T-tops when you take them off and the other part remains on the pillar?

For the smokers, what may help is Oxy Clean.

That stuff seems to remove all stains. I should know, I have dogs....
