My wife got a bra for my '95 Camaro and has been wanting to put it on the car. I'm worried it might do to the paint. I had one for my old nissan truck and it scratched up the paint something awful. :(
My question to all of you is what can I do to protect my paint from this thing, yet still use it? It's a full front-end cover with the hood piece.

You've just put your finger on something I'll never understand. The original point of those bras was to prevent damage to a car's front end. But the bra itself does a lot of damage. So what is the point? Also, why do so many people leave them on permanently? I guess they think it looks good, but I personally think it looks sort of, well, ...odd (but that's just my warped way of seeing things).
Bras DO make sense to me for people on long road trips or in bug-infested areas (like during Florida's love bug seasons).
Just my $.02.

It does seem rather Catch-22, doesn't it? I mean, they do look good IMO and they're meant as protection for the front end. I think the biggest problem is wind getting under the thing and making it flap about and do damage. Maybe keeping the bugger tight and putting extra coats of wax might help?

I have no idea what brand this bra is. The ole lady bought from a friend who sold his car. It looks in very good shape but don't have any idea what the seller's car looked like after he took it off. Story of my life...

I've got a Bra on my 95 for reasons different than most people. I've had my front bumper painted 2 times andthe paint keeps on chipping off. I didn't want to pay another $200 to paint it so my conclusion was to cover the chipped paint with a BRA. I've got a Black car so it doesn't really look that bad. I didn't want a Bra, but it was the cheapest way to go. You can get Bra's made out of different materials. The most common one bought is one by LeBra for about $80 and it's a Vinyl Simulated leather. The back side is soft and like felt, and won't really scratch your paint. THe only problem with the bras is that they are a pain to take on and off when washing the car. Dirt gets stuck down in them and when you drive the wind pushes that dirt around under there sratching the paint.
Put multiple coats of wax on before you install it and make sure you wash under it frequently.
I also put mine on because my fron end paint is less than desirable but I just waxed the crap out of the nose of the car and I take it off every time I wash the car (about once a week) and I have never had a problem. When Mine gets really dirty on the underside I just toss it in the washing machine with ni soap.
