• New Bumper, what do you guys think?

Got my front bumper replaced. Old one was cracked from the previous driver hitting the garage wall (made the license plate press in, and it cracked the nose). The guy said my car would look good w/ the trans am front bumper so I decided to go ahead and order one (same price as firebird one). I wanted to get some round foglights put on the front, and I thought these would look nicer. Is it ricey or does it look good? This is the only apperance mod that I'm gonna do, I plan putting a v8 in there some day..... Tell me what you think

gah, geocities is gay, so I changed the server. Don't go to the geocities links below.

Why would changing the front bumper to the trans am style be rice? DO YOU LIKE IT? if so thats the ONLY opinion you need. I personally like it. I am NOT fond of the V6 front ends. ESPECIALLY the pre 98's. You made a good choice and why the hell not if it was the same price. Id have done the same. :D

I think the T/A bumpers look goofy.

I think that it looks great! How much did the front end run you if you don't mind me asking? Based on the picture, I can't really see your foglights...if you can find the stock ta ones they would probably show up a lot better.

the front end was about $430 new, and about $230 painted from a body shop here in Houston (I stayed away from the dealer
:D ) There are no foglights, it's just the black covers you find on the firebird nose, cept these are rounds. I've been looking for the stock foglights, and they said I could buy them from them but after they told me the price I shook my head and walked out in shock. About $119 each! not including installation! So I'm trying to find a pair of cheap decent ones, maybe PIAA or something.

$119 each for freakin fog lights??? Hell, I paid 30 bucks for my pair and they work just fine. I'm positive that you can just use some good round pep boys fog lamps or something...I would suggest that you just use regular white ones...not the little projection ones or something. I've seen round white ones for like 30 bucks or something....hopefully they are the right size or close. Don't give the dealers all that money. Those morons wanted 209 bucks a piece for rear rotors on my car...I told them to get lost.

Looks great, I have a red 97 bird and i'm glad to see someone with a T/A bumper, because i've thought about it, but you really need the ground effects, you can get the side and rear from the west wing body kit pretty cheap(maybe around 300-400 for the sides and rear) that will set it off.

I think it looks good, but it is kind of rice. If you consider the mainstream definition of rice,.. its making a car look fast, without it being fast. The T/A front bumper cover came only with V8 cars, and seeing it on a V6 may suggest to some people that you're trying to pass for a V8. Unless you swap the rear V6 tail lights for the Trans Am tail lights, most people will know its not a V8. Even if you put a V8 into it in the future, it still isn't a genuine Trans Am, yet looks and drives like one. So,... IMO, you've got good looking rice. :D ;)

Dude, I love it. And unless you plan on changing the badges to say "TRANS AM, LT1, M6", you aren't rice. I've seen a V6 with a TA front end in person, and it doesn't look weird at all like I thought it would. It fits fine, and you don't need the other GFX parts to make it look good because it already looks like it fits in place. Good luck with it! A Trans Am is the only model which has two round foglights in the front, and an up-level spoiler in the back.

Firebirds and Formulas look alike from the front, as well as the back. The only difference between a Formula and a Firebird V6 are the badges on the side of the door, and the left headlight cover which say "Formula". The Formulas and Trans Ams have black bars on their tail lights, while the V6 Firebirds have the simple, red tail lights without the black bars (this applies only to the 93-97 models, since 98 + model Firebirds all have identical tail lights, but different badging). The V6 Firebird tail lights will say "Firebird" on them.

That should help you tell them appart.
