Why won't a 6-speed shifter knob fit on my V6?

    Why won't a 6-speed shifter knob fit on my V6?

    I went to order my cool shift knob today and the guy told me that it won't fit on a v6 firebird. Are you kidding me??? Is there a size different between the 5 and 6 speed??? Doesn't make any sense to me.

    Any input? Thanks guys.

    The 6 speed shift knob fits the 5 speed shifter JUST FINE - Mine is on the way in fact :D

      Hmmm that's interesting...then why would thunderracing tell me it doesn't fit?

      I thought it was a load of crap but i guess u never know....... so it does fit? and thunderracing is just whacked or what?

        It does fit the FACTORY shifter on both of them just make sure it is factory and you are good to go.
