Anyone have or seen sidemarkers on the fender of an F-body?
Anyone ever seen clear side markers on the fenders of a 'maro or 'bird?? Just wondering because I was think of installing one on my 'maro. I think it would look good...adding more detail to the body, thus giving it more of an upper trim level look, as well as European.

You're welcome to do it, but in my opinion, I would never do that to my car.

Maybe if he was talking about Altezzas it'd be rice, but I don't see how clear sidemarkers or turnsignals are rice. I am going to make clear rear sidemarkers for my car because that big red blob on the car looks out of place on a white car like mine. I have all the materials, except for a Dremel tool. My brother at college has that, so I have to wait 2 weeks for him to get home and give it to me.
I have to say, if you cleaning up the image of your car. Side marker lights would not be rice. Just like clear corners are not rice. Do you look at an Audi A6 and say "RICE!"? Or a VW Bug and start feeling like Uncle Ben's??? I don't think so. I can't say that I've seen this on a Camaro, but try it. Clean up the car to your taste. Post some pictures. You might find the skeptics changing there tune then ;)

Aww come on Teal, you're jusy bitter cuz you know the Sharks are going to smoke Detroit. ;) :D
But back on topic, I don't really like the idea of adding lights where there weren't any before. It just reminds me of those '89 honda accords with like 3 pairs of aftermarket foglights making the front look like a Christmas tree at night. Audis and VWs come with those lights, so thats a different story, IMO anyway.
Didn't mean to flame at all.
I wasn't going to say anything negative about the sidemarkers until you mentioned how it would give it more of a "european" look..... dude your car is domestic- that's like michael jackson trying to be white....... i'm not racist, i'm just a realist. I'm white and could never be black, hispanic, oriental... just like other origins could never be white.... get my drift?! If your goal is to look euro, you'll be riced out in no time!
No flaming intended.. just trying to help a brother out (from turning to the dark side... )

I like to be a rebel and go against the grain sometimes, so...I think I just might try it. I can't afford the big appearance mods like rims and hood so....

Whoa!! Talk about the over use of the term, RICE. This is just as controversial as racism, if not more so, at least in here.
Ever seen people with the export taillights?? Well, they have export side markers too, FYI. So it did come from a manufacturer, CHEVY.
Peace out bro \/

hey raven he's talking about the sidemarkers you would put above or below "camaro" on the front 1/4 pannels... just thought you should know ;)
and I'm from Earth by the way He's just trying to be white! Seems like a lot of work involved when this quote was taken from the king of pop himself: "it doesn't matter if your black or white." :D

I went ahead and put the Altezzas, Clear corners, and clear sides on my '97 Camaro. I gotta tell 'ya. Looks a lot better on the Silver exterior than those amber corners and little red square stuck on the side in the middle of nowhere. The car looks a lot more "uniform" I guess is the word I'm looking for.
Oh and not that I'm promoting rice or anything, but look at what your and my favorite auto manf. (GM) is doing to the new Cavaliers, Sunfires, and Saturns. Looks like some of the "rice" mods are becoming "corn friendly." ::shrugs::

I'm neutral. I would have to see it before I praised it or condemed it. I can see how it would look awsome and I could also see it being a disaster. Be prepared to replace a fender if it looks like crap. If you do it I would like to see it. I don't see it as a matter of rice or not, I see it as a matter of flowing with the car or not. thats my $.02
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
