• Ram Air H.O. Hood

I'm thinking about buying the H.O. hood from SLPonline.com. for my 99 Bird. Does anyone out there already have this mod? If so, How much did it cost to get it painted? and How does it hook up to the existing airbox?

I have the SLP RAM-AIR hood on my car. Got it installed last summer. It is BADASS my friend. I get compliments all of the time. Click on the link in my sig and see what you think. The hood cost me $650 from Tbyrne motorsports and $700 to get painted. But have no fear, it costed so much to get painted because I had the whole front of my car from the doors forward painted. If you just want the hood paintd it will cost you around $300 I would say. Anyway, click on my sig, take a look at my car and your mind will be set!! :D

I got my hood from www.suncoastcreations.com shipped to my house for $710. Had it painted for $70 :D

Only reason paint was so cheap was that my car was involved in an accident and the body shop made about $3000 profit due to the accident so he kinda hooked me up on the paint

It does the same thing as the Ultra-Z hood. The air is comming in from the hood right below the airbox ( the stock intake location ). It is a better idea to not have cold air induction with this kind of hood because as Dom said a while ago, if the CAI is a lower pressure than the hood intake then the air will just get sucked out and never get forced into the actual intake.

I had the Ram Air H.O. on my Firebird and I was very pleased with it. It cost $200 for the paintjob which came out pretty nice. I had the hood combined with a whisper lid and the combination worked well together. When you get the hood post some pics!
