  • 2006 Cleaning products

So, O.K. I work @ Wal-Mart. We just added the new 2006 cleaning products. We do this every March. Every top of the line company has a new product. Its a new rim cleaning brush, a new wax, we even have a cheap a** battery buffer for $9.88 ( stay away from it ). Anyways, what do you all think of the 100 or so items that do:

1: Basic water & soap in the bucket car wash.
2: Sponge or mitt to use with #1 above.
    3: Paste wax
4: Wax as you dry pruduct.
    5: Drying cloth.
    6: Wheel cleaner.
7: Tire cleaner-polish (to make the tires shine)
    8: Chrome polish.

This is for the outside of the car I know, but thats all I will be working on.
    What do you use?

Any input to the above items would be great. Thanks. CRASHTESTCAMARO

i mostly use meguiars for all this.
      1. Two buckets.. one with just water and the other with Meguiars NXT Car Wash Soap.
      2. I use a a jumbo wash mitt/cuff, but sponges arent bad.
      3. I use Meguiars Gold Class Paste
      4. ?
      5. Large Synethic Drying Cloth (leather, i think)
      6. nothing since my rims are alloy. just soap and a strong brush.
      7. All meguiars' tire shine work great. I use Meg's Hot Shine Tire Shine (i dont spray directly but on a cloth and spread it all around)
      8.?

BTW, i love the car care products smell.

        This is what I do:

-Wash the wheels first with soap, then scrub tires with brush & Westley's Tire Cleaner
-Wash car with soap & water using a mit
        -Dry with "The Absorber"
-Wax with Zaino with a clean damp sponge applicator, then apply a sealant with a clean damp sponge applicator
-Remove all waxes/sealants with a clean Microfiber Towel
-Polish rims with Mother's Metal Polish

The soap & water works great on my rims because I don't have to worry about brake dust (I love my Ceramix Brake Pads!), BUT...I found that Greased Lightning Orange Blast Wheel Cleaner works great on rims with heavy buildup.

1: Basic water & soap in the bucket car wash - meguiars gold class

2: Sponge or mitt to use with #1 above - a good clean sponge that has never been dropped on the ground.

3: Paste wax - meguiars cleaner wax or if I am using the clay bar, polish, etc. then meguiars gold class wax.

4: Wax as you dry product - ???

5: Drying cloth - deer skin shammy or 100% terry cloth towels. I want to try that autodry car wash for basic, no show, washes.

6: Wheel cleaner - good wheel brush. meguiars gold class car wash.

          7: Tire cleaner-polish - Black n Wet

8: Chrome polish - no chrome. If I had chrome it would be some meguiars product.

          9. Polish - meguiars

          10. Clay bar - meguiars

          11. Paint cleaners (heavy - light cut) meguiars

              1: Meguiars gold class

2: Clean Sponge, but I may buy a mitt pretty soon

3: NXT in the summer and a layer of Gold class for the winter since it holds up longer

4: Haven't used one on my car, but I have used it on my parents to do a quick job and they work well for that.

5: California water blade then microfiber towels

6: old cotton towel and gold class wash

7: 303 it gives the wheels a clean look, but not too wet looking (I think it looks out of place) and it protects the rubber

8: Windex, but I don't have any chrome on my car

              9. Meguiars (can't remember specific one off top of my head)

              10. Mothers (generally the easiest for me to find in stores)

              11. Meguiars (part of their 3 step process)

                Thanks for all the info.
Yea, not much chrome on the cars, but looking for a polish for the exhaust tips.
