If your paint is peeling, you should use an adhesion promoting plastic primer.
If your paint is chipping away, you should use a flex additive or purchase the more expensive urethane coatings. Urethane coatings are the best. They are much more flexible than acrylic coatings, and usually do not require a flex additive for plastic application. As a note, most spray paints are acrylic. So, shop carefully. And watch out, price does not dictate the quality of spray paint.
Anyhow, good luck.
Also, when painting plastics, it is best to use the fewest coats of paint necessary to coat an item. This will promote the paint's ability to flex with the plastic. Too many coats will stiffen the application, and may result in chipping as the plastic flexes.
If you are willing to spend a little more than spray paint, use airbrush equipment to paint your interior. The equipment is cheap, easy to use, will give you an opportunity to use custom colors, and you will typically thin the paint more for airbrush application.2001 Kroger\'s shopping cart
MODS-
* disabled locking wheel
* used Flowmaster and some LS1 parts ... I haven't had that problem. I get mine custom made at Sherwyn Williams(do you have them in the states?) over a basic plastic primer and then some cheap clear coat.
It's holding up great...1997 silver Camaro RS
|T-Type Powered|
Looking for a local F-Body club in K/W, Ontario, Canada?
