Fancy Paint Job=Higher Theft Possibility?

I'm thinkin about painting the firebird emblem on my hood, think that would raise the possiblity of it being stolen? When I get my car painted I'm going to do it really dark blue, I was thinking of a creamy white for the firebird, any other ideas on colors?

I have the attitude with my car that it's a v6, so it's not likely to get stolen by any serious car theives(if they want fbody, they'll go 8).

...and it's got too many security goodies to be a target for joy-riding kids...

On top of that I kept the factory deck so there are no visibly appealing things to break in for...

All of that and I feel quite safe. I dont' think the bird image will change it.

If you're worried, you could always do a crappy job and then no one would want it anyways ;)

lets steal a car that resales for under 7000 unless they are gonna strip it or want your parts they wouldn't bother with your car.

I wouldnt let that keep you from getting it painted. it will attract more attention, but not enough to matter. that wouldnt be the first thing i would think about if i were getting my car painted.

I dont think it will really raise the odds of it getting stolen..

HOWEVER! the car runs a higher risk of getting keyed and stoopid **** like that..

You shouldn't have any issues with it getting stolen because of the emblem. It makes the car more identifiable, standing out from others. No thief is going to want that kind of attention when they're driving around in a stolen car. At least, any thief with half a brain...
