  • How to save ur seats, b4 it's too late....

I've noticed a couple of weeks ago, after I got soakin wet from the rain, that I also got my seats pretty wet. Then afterwards, it appears that the seat fabric on top got "stretched". Well, I inspected it some more and it turned out it did not stretch at all but the wire frame had sliced thru the sponge cushion.

Here is what its comprised of from top to bottom of the seat:
Top: Fabric (where ur butt touches)
    Middle: Sponge cushion
Bottom: wire in egg crate grille pattern.

Well, on my seat the rear'est most wire that goes left to right slowly dug thru the sponge and cut it into two pieces!!!

What did I do? I put some shop towel in between the wire and sponge as a temporary fix. I am looking for one of those oven mitt like towels now to replace those shop towels.

So, go and check ur cushions and if you feel the wire cut some off already....then u know what to do!!!

Haven't noticed this problem in my car yet, but thanks for the heads up!

my car and my car at work both have the metal frame cutting through the foam cushion on the right side support. i used a spray adhesive and duct tape. my seats are now firmer than before and haven't lost their shape.

my car's getting aftermarket seats soon. these factory jobs suck anyway.

yeah, on my 95, they were cut pretty bad, so i used some duct tape to help... when i got my 97, 1st thing i did was about 3-4 layers of duct tape all over the bottom (between the foam and lattace metal bit).. really has saved them
