  • Black "Camaro" piece. Opinions wanted

I posted a while ago about this and a few of you thought this would look, but most didn't. Thought I would see if seeing a pic has changed anyones mind. I covered the "camaro" piece with black vinyl as a temporary thing and in fact it's no longer on my car. But I finally got the pics I took a while ago so I thought I would post them. Tell me what you think

It might take a little bit to load

Edit: for all you searchers... here's a pic:

I would like it more if there were red letters in the fill-ins. There is just too much black there--its out of place IMO. Photoshop some red letters on there and it'll look great.

BTW--check out the ones on www.gmmginc.com They have the rear peices like that on most of their cars.

Look like a firebird? Well now that you mention it I guess it does kinda look like a firebird rear. I've never seen one in person like this and thats one reason I like it. Red Blur, your right there is way to much black there. I have black reflective concepts stickers now and my plan was to buy another piece and paint that black and throw on some red rc's and get a red RS sticker like the black one I have now. Then I could change it around when ever I want. You don't even want to see it without the blackouts, the tail lights make it look real funny.

I dont know about the way the red looks but the white camaro looks awsome. The yetti is sweet.. I thought about this on my red camaro, but I doubt I get the nerve to do it. I think it make it look a little awkward, like some ricer who cant afford paint. That good ol primer look. Now, if the rest of the car had black accents, like stripes, or black rims, it may look pretty good on a red car. Also, the inserts may help bunches. All in all, it just my opinion, but thanks for posting the pics. Always wanted to see a red cam with this done to it.

Damn mayhem, thats a nice lookin car. The black goes great on a white car and looks sweet with your stripes. I was edgey about the red/black look so thats why I just used vinyl. I think that SS fin really helps alot too. Mine looks better in person and would look better with actual paint. In person it gives the back a bulky look or at times makes it look skinnier. I just think the rear of these cars are missing something. And that something is center exhaust  . I probably won't end up doing it cause I'm tied up with my nitrous project but if I can find the time and money I'll find a totaled camaro and do it.

I have that back panel painted a flat black as well on my silver camaro and it looks badass.

It looks like you have the "Camaro" letters filled in (not just painted black too, but actually filled in)? Did you? If so, I wouldn't of done that.

Anyway, I still think it looks good - but get rid of those blackouts - too much black. They look tacky.

defrag: Yeah I know they make a center exhaust. I was actually looking at the slp cause I like it better. The  was because I can't afford it  !

Cale: The black piece looks great on white and silver cars, it's a little difficult to get it right on a red car. The reason it looks filled in is cause thats vinyl over it. Without the black outs the lights look awkward and stand out, it just doesn't look right. Everyone that saw it in person that way hated it but loved or at least liked it with the black outs. With red accents the too much black effect would probably go away.

Heres two more shots from further away

Oh ok, I see, I see.

Yea it does look better from a distance with the blackouts.

Get that mug painted, you won't regret it (I think it'll look a lot better actually painted. However... I think my body man told me that the "flat black" paint he used on it is actually some sort of a vinyl paint :-P

                              anyhow.

                              Looks Good, get 'er painted!
