  • Interior Paint Scheme (Opinions)

Here's the issue.. I have plans to paint parts of my interior this weekend. My problem is I can't decide what color. My bird is a dark green with a gold + white pinstripes. The gold one is more obvious.. Do you guys think that I should go with some type of green or a gold color on the interior paint. My seats and carpet is a yellowish tan color and my dash and console is the greyish/black color. I know this is confusing, but I hope you guys got the picture.

help me decide on a color..

    thanks

gold would probably tacky and out of place...
I'd go with dark green ,or possably tan(like your carpets)

Sometimes it's good to go with a completely different color that isn't on your exterior. My car is Red with black and I went with silver painted interior to match my aluminum sub and aluminum bezel on my c/f gauge. But considering you already have three colors on your ext I don't know. Maybe silver would work, it would look close to white, or just look like crap. I'm not to sure about gold, it would probably look out of place like wolf said. I'm not really sure what to tell you. Have you done anything under your hood?

I haven't really decided on a color under there either. My car is getting painted in a couple months. I'm gonna go with solid green. I think that I'll either go with silver or green for my interior..

        Thanks for the replies..

You're getting your car repainted the same color? Why would you do that? Oh, and I wouldn't paint the interior. Makes the car look cheap, I would never do it to mine. ;)

I'd get some of the Kameleon paint that you can buy in a spray can, they have a gold to green to purple color that would looke great on your interior.

autozone has it... it comes in a box with three seperate cans. one can of base coat, one can of actual paint, and one can of clear coat. you need all three to make the chameleon affect. i think it's like $16.

It's kind of hard to match a color scheme to chameleon paint i think. Unless your car is painted with it. Then it's cool.

FirebirdGIrl : Do a search for painted interior. You should find alot of pictures. A good one to look at is the cardinals even though there are several other good ones too.

Here you go, best I can do for nighttime, but I get alot of complaments, its not that hard to do either, everyone keeps asking me if it came from the factory like that cuz it looks like it was made that way for the car. I think red looks the best for the interior, esspecially if you have a red car, what color is yours?

94pontv6: I found some at k-mart, so im sure you can find it their or walmart, but thats the only place I could find it so far, im sure someone around you has some,it was 20 bucks for three cans(primer, paint, and clearcoat).

BTW, anyone else have some opinions on if I should paint more? I also have the two side vents painted, but I kinda would like more along the dash to kind of even it out all the way accross, any advice on what parts I should paint?

Red is a really bold color. I wouldn't do much more. I'm assuming you have the end vents done? A side from that the only tihng I would consider is the glove box handle and a different steering wheel cover that has some red in it... Maybe the speaker covers in the front and back. But that's about it unless you want to go crazy...
