• New paint job/color change

I was discussing the possibility of repainting my car with my dad tonight, and he told me that he would be willing to help me out with it. He said we would take care of all the body work and prep and then just get it sprayed at a local shop where he is good friends with the owner. Now I just need to decide on a color. I think I'm just gonna leave the engine bay black. I don't really care about that, but we will do the doorjams. Anyways I'm really liking the idea of some shade of blue, maybe electron blue like on vettes. Someone on here (can't remember who) had theirs painted sonic blue and it looked great. If anyone has any suggestions, advice, or pics of their cars with new paint jobs post em up! Thanks

There's a cool color by BMW called Anthracite black. It's kinda a carbon/grayish-black color. Still would give that deep black color, but at the same time be a tad lighter,

I just had mine painted in Silverstone metallic, pretty cool color too. They're both dark grays and silvers which would make it an easier transition from the black. Engine bay wouldn't seem too out of place with that. The blue would look awesome too, the 350Z blue is a nice color blue too; I really like all their color schemes for some reason.

            ^Thats a cool color...

I think a nice dark gunmetal type color with lots of metallic flake woudl be awesome. Maybe that medium spyral gray on the vettes or the dark gray on the new GTs, badass color.

i would personally leave it black, since the color change under the hood would bother me. maybe a new coat of black on the outside? if it doesnt bother you though, then the blue color would be cool

Well the car isn't looking as good as it does in those pictures. I had a minor accident that tore off the front gfx, the front bumper has a crack in it and the paint is chipping and cracking off too. There's also so many dents, scratches, rock chips, and spiderwebbing all over that it would cost just as much if not more to get all that stuff fixed than it would for a whole new paint job. So I figure this is my best option.

Right now I'm leaning towards bright blue metallic, which I think was a factory color only in 1999. I've seen a couple 98+ camaros in this color and it looks awesome. I also like sunset orange metallic a lot. I just don't want to deal with black anymore, even though people always tell me my car is clean as hell I'm never happy with the way it looks out in the sunlight.

Also in case you haven't thought about it with a major color change... you are going to have to likely do all the doorjambs and such too. See if that changes the price on doing a color change.

Honestly I think it would be cool to have a gunmetal exterior and black door jambs
