  • '01 Dash Removal

I painted the for vent on my 01 Firebird Dash. However, I couldn't get the dash out, so the job is only half done. Does anybody know how to take the dash out? (I am talking about the piece from he windshield toward the driver.) I tried to pry in various locations but that didn't seem to work. So I need to unscrew the side pillars first on the inside? Somebody on here told me to pry to get the air vents out. Well that didn;t work. Lucky my car was under warranty at the time, but the car is no longer on warranty if I crack my dash.

    Thanks

Are you talking about the biggest piece that touches the glass and goes all the way across?

A big screw driver a patience. It's held down by the same plastic/velcro type things that hold everything else.

        Good Luck

This thread tells how to remove and replace the big dashboard panel IF you have t tops (or a vert, I guess):

If you have a hard top, then I suggest you look at www.LS1.com or www.Ls2.com in the appearance sections. I recall seeing some discusions there about removal for hardtop f bodies.
