  • Can a V6 Have Functional Ram Air?

I'm looking at buying a functional ram air hood for my 1999 Firebird, and I'm just wondering if I bought the airbox, etc., with it, if the car could become functional, or even if it's worth it to make it functional.

    Let me know.

You can make it functional. With the suncoast creations ones you have to buy their airbox to make it functional. With the GM Ram Air hoods, I think those work with the stock setup.

But I do know that people have decided that the fast toys ram air setup is a better way to get ram air. So basicly the hoods have been deemed to be for looks only.

I'm looking at buying from www.ramairhood.com...would it be easy to install a functional ram air kit from them on a stock 1999 V6, or it not even worth my time or money?

nice car man, I love the hood and color.

You have a V6 I'm assuming...did it make any difference having functional ram air? I drove a new Grand AM GT and that thing had some kick.
