Yeah, rubbing compound is exactly what you should look for when you go to the store. The stuff is like a REALLY fine "liquid sandpaper". It has an abrasive feeling to it. The stuff kinda polishes out haze and really light scratches. Somebody else might be able to offer a more indepth description.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope

there are different compounds for different paint problems. a picture might help... dont just go to the store and buy any old bottle and start rubbing. youll probably just make it worse. the 3m stuff is good, but they make multiple types and you will need the right stuff.

If you check out autopia.org, they have a reviews section on different things to use on your car, as well as the forum for you to see what product people used with similar products. Wouldn't a scratch remover product help fill in those spots some too on the car?AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

Rubing compound first to remove oxidation, the paint will look dull after this. Then polishing compound to bring back shine. Then 3M Imperial hand glaze for that new paint look.
Use 3M everything.Black 2000 Y87 Camaro with T-tops ,SLP bowtie grill, Suncoast Creations Ram air hood and air box,Hypertech pp3,magnaflow cat back, and hi flow cat. http://members.cardomain.com/sorn09

i had some bad spots on my rear bumper so i used rubbing coumpound on it, it got rid of the spots but it left my bumper looking real dull at some angles. Never the less it looks better than it did before though. but i would be careful before i just went rubbing it in the middle of my hood or something.1997 Camaro
17x9 Chrome SS wheels, SLP CAI, Magnaflow Catback,
High Flow Cat, Blacked out Lights, 20% tint, AUDIO: 1600W Kenwood eXcelon Amp, 12\" Kicker L7, 1 Farad Cap (Recently STOLEN),
H&R Springs and KYB AGX\'s,
Billet Grille
