• Clear Side Marker Install Issues...

First let me say I hate these damn things already! They came with absolutely no directions of any kind and were already glued together even though I'm fairly certain you have to take the lense of the backing to get any bulb in there right? I think I'm going to use clear bulbs even though it's probably illegal here. So my question is, when you start taking off the old lights do you have to pry the old lense off the original backing to remove the bulb? I thought this install would be pretty straight forward but it's easily becoming a PITA. I hope after I seal them up with RTV Silicone they don't leak or I'm gonna go berserk!

ANY help on this would be greatly appreciated!

REMOVE THE LENS????!!! when have you ever seen a car that you'd have to remove the lens to access the bulbs???..I havent....there is an access panel under neath you car right in front of your tires...10mm if memory serves me...undo that then rotate the socket to remove it from the housing...then theres 3 screws holding the housing in, remove those, remove the housing, put the new one in and reasemble....not trying to be rude, but have you ever changed a light bulb???....you might wanna pay someone to do this for you ;) please dont pry any lens's off they're sealed watertight for a reason ;)

I'm gonna go look at it again, but from all first impressions the bulbs WON'T go in the back of the lights. And my side markers have ONE screw not three like on a Camaro. I don't wanna take the lenses off if I don't have to, I could possibly have the wrong bulbs, but I doubt it. Regardless, I'll do a full write-up on this as soon as I'm done so no more questions like this come up :-P

You're making it way too complicated. Remove the screws, then pull the entire assembly towards you. Then look on the back and you'll see where to twist the bulb out. Twist it out, change bulbs, twist the bulb back into the back of the lens, put the lens back on the car, and put the screw back in to hold it down, and you're done. Easier than your average prostitute!

Ya you guys are right, I actually found a moment when it wasn't pouring rain outside last night and got them installed no sweat. I got some wrong info from someone on another board about the bulb size so that's why I was freaking out. I should have known better and just went out and looked myself, would have saved me a lot of trouble! Car looks great now btw, I'll have pictures up next time I wash the beast (damn pollen!)

You should have said if they were the front or the rear....as it would have got you much better info. I can tell you are talking about the rear....but you probably got bad info because they thought you were talking about the front.
