viper, guru asks that you not share the information totally with people. you can give them the general idea, but not all the info.

i have done that on here. i get guru reports also. its excellent information.

2 weeks and no beads on the majority of the waxes tested
I put Wax-as-u-Dry and it still beads two weeks later! Not until I wash it with car wash soap does the beads get bigger. Even after a month of no washing, the water never sheets like that with ANY wax I've used.

I see in your other thread you did detail work before. Well, i've never done that for a living, but I've used a lot of shelf products on my previous car before. Some of the things I've tried that I can remember since I think most are thrown away by now.

                  Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound
                  Turtle Wax Polishing Compound
                  Turtle Wax Color Wax
                  3M Rubbing Compound
                  Meguairs Glaze
                  Meguairs Cleaner Wax
                  GS27(not mine)
                  Nu Finish
                  Zymol
                  Meguiars Gold Class
                  Eagle One WET
                  Meguiars Carnuba Wax
                  Meguiars 123 Step System
                  3M Glaze
                  Meguiars NXT
                  Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss
                  WAX-AS-U DRY

I've also use detailing spray to clean off poop and water spots that drip after a wash:
Mothers and Eagle One. Also tried Detailing Wipes.

My paint has nothing embedded in it and I clay the car every once in a long while, so no matter what I use, it's still smooth. So I just choose the easiest one. I know it protects as sap and poop can be wiped off easily and it's shiney. When I throw water at it, it beads. No matter which wax I use, it has that same effect. And yes, when I dont wax at all, it is harder to come off and it has large water spots, rather than beads.

i am a zaino convert. i have to admit it. i have used quite a few different waxes (mothers, megaurie, turtle wax, et al). traditional carnuba waxes just dont have durability. they are good for a couple weeks at best. liquid glass seems to be more durable but it seems like to lack the high gloss finish i like.

for durability nufinish, prestone bullet (or high protection) wax or zaino are all fairly similar. nufinish is durable but it easily stains plastic/rubber so you need to be careful. it can be hard to remove (particularly in cracks). i like prestone since it has a higher gloss than nufinish (nufinish paste is slightly glossier than the liquid version but harder to find). either of these easily last six months. for a quick touchup you can use any detailer you want with these products.

i recently bought a patriot blue dakota (that essentially NBM in gm speak). i decided to give zaino a try. i like it. it does conceal fine scratches and it does layer. about 3 months later it is still beading. after washing i do need to apply the zaino detailer to remove waterspots and get peak gloss.

I don't use wax....I use liquid glass and it has lasted over a year with just one application. Water still beads like the first day. I need to get out there and polish it again though.

I used to use Meguires but now I'm gonna switch to Zaino.
