I'm getting a new hood, and a body shop told me that if I buy a fiberglass hood, it's going to cost more to paint because they'll have to put multiple coats on it. The reason is because fiberglass has many pores and it'll need more layer of paint rather than a steel hood. Is that really true?

Also I'm debating on the SLP Ram Air Hood, or the WS6 style Ram Air Hood. I like them both, but I'm not sure which one to go with. The only thing with the WS6 style is that it costs more than the SLP hood. Which one do you guys think I should get?

sounds like bunk. the hood is going to have a gelcoat that is primed. it shouldnt take any more paint to cover that than a steel hood. and if anything they would need to use more primer which should be relatively cheap. they might need to use flex additives in the paint though since its going to be less rigid than a steel hood. this might increase the price slightly.
