i hate the ugly plain 93-97 firebird taillights, and i reallllly don't wanna shell out 300+ for used transam/formula tail lights. i was wonderin if anybody sells the black grid thing as an overlay sticker thing that would go over my lights, since the transam lights are the same thing as mine they just have the black grid lines on em. thanks for any info

Not only is the grid different but the placement of the reverse lights are circular and not rectangular anymore.
God bless honecomb tailights hehe.
Check ebay becuase they dont make a layer for your tailights.Red 1998 Firebird

Search the online fbody salvage yards as well as regular ones. I bought mine for only $85 a piece when I had my 94 bird. I bought the driver's side from a place in Illinois and the other one from a place in South Carolina (because neither place and a set). Just do some searching and you'll probably get the best price from a regular salvage yard versus a "fbody" one where they'll charge you up the ying yang.

can't you just install 98+ tail lights on yours, or are they not compatible. Those would look great on our cars.2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6
M6, Magnaflow\'s 14336
C6 Pics

Old car:
1996 Firebird A4
SLP Cold Air Intake
Magnaflow Catback Exhaust
Magnaflow Catalytic Converter

George Mason University
CEIE Major
Pi Kappa Alpha

Firebird Pics

well then there is your solution, get the 98+ tailights which look better than the TA tail lights you wnat and like the man before me said, they will fit our cars, that is going to be my choice when i get the cash to buy them.2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6
M6, Magnaflow\'s 14336
C6 Pics

Old car:
1996 Firebird A4
SLP Cold Air Intake
Magnaflow Catback Exhaust
Magnaflow Catalytic Converter

George Mason University
CEIE Major
Pi Kappa Alpha

Firebird Pics

i got mine off of ebay for $25. do your shopping around and you might get lucky like me. mine came off a 93 formula and included the all black center piece. personally i'd rather have the lights off and lt1 rather than the newer honeycomb style lights. the lt1 taillights were different than the v6 lights and kinda gave them a "unique" look. all 98-up v6,formula, and trans ams had the same taillights and you can't really tell a v6 w/ exhaust apart from a formula from behind. just my personal thoughts about them.94 Firebird - Red A4
http://members.cardomain.com/predatorbird

an overlay would look cheap over the stock 93-97 "red" lights...i hated mine everysince i got my car...i replaced them with a set of 98+ lamps shortly after getting my car, i had to pay 260 for them shipped (including the centerpiece), but it was worth it (i had to pay more because i bought them in late 99/early 2000 when there were fewer wrecked 98+'s )
they are very easy to put in...and made my car look twice as good 1995 Pontiac Firebird
3.4 M5, Bright Red
98 Formula Rims, 98+ taillamps, 99 Z28 exhaust and tips

Just get some blackouts. ;) They look good with black firebirds, like mine.
