Would it be pretty easy to remove the door panels and replace the cloth on the upper part of the door panel with leather or fake leather? seems like it'd be fairly easy, i just wanted to know if anyones thought of that or done it?

I did it with suede....check the updated pics in my sig to see it....yes its easy...you need some hog rings, and fabric glue, a little bit of time and your done ;)

bout 25$ a yard for the material (I have connections) and yes its real suede, I did my entire headliner and had my visors sent out to get sewn properly with the monitors in them....so I guess 40-50$ would be a ball-park figure....if you dont have anything else suede though you might wanna use some vinyl, I wouldnt use leather, its to soft, the vinyl will wear like iron if your like me and rest your arm on that panel everytime you drive, its a big concern....vinyl you can pick up really cheap, and yes hog rings are the staple like things...it just makes the job easier.....and if you dont have access to a pair of hog ring pliars, (which most people dont) vinyl tie straps(zip-ties) will work just fine, I actually had to use zip-ties to secure my leather to my back seats...just get some 50lb test...so it'll last ;) ....good luck

yeah i was gonna get some vinyl or simulated leather just to put on the door panels, i'm not going to do the headliner or visors or anything, just the 2 door panels. i noticed my friend with a prelude did his center console lid and it looks pretty good, and the vinyl should be relatively cheap. thanks for the advice. i hope to be doing this soon.
