Between $500-$1000 depending on what you want done and how expensive the shop is.

      HA.

i read a while back of someone who wanted to do it. they were in the paint store getting info on it, and a guy was in there who did on the site painting. they traded numbers, and a few days later, the guy sanded the front bumper down, primed it, painted it, and clear coated it, for $60, in the persons driveway.

id say a shop would charge $200 at MOST for a job like that.

i was quoted by 2 shops, to sand, repaint, with flex agent (needed on plastic bumpers) $380 and $420

I got a check from the insurance company for $380 to get it done.

but bought the ws6 before i got the chance to get it done.. oh well.

If I remember correctly, you don't need flex agent if you have it done 2 stage (basecoat/clearcoat). There are some body shops that never use flex....

why would you ask that question here? Just drive to your local body shop and ask for a quote. Now some people are telling you $200, while others say $1000. So,,,what are you going to believe?

sound like there are some shops that will never get my business...

I am just going by what the places that quoted me said. both added flex into the repair bill.

Another friend recenlty purchased a bodyshop, and laughed at that comment, but then again, he does ferarris, lambo's and cleberity's cars 90% of the time, so the job has to be done right.

Because it's so common to have only your bumper repainted, so people could give you accurate prices?

You should take time out of your 'busy' schedule sitting on you *** , and go get quotes yourself.

Let me clear that comment up then. Most body shops no longer use a flexing agent. Most good automotive paints don't require flexing agent to be added, they are formulated to be sprayed w/o the use of flex agent. You get the durability of flex agent, w/o the problem of the shop using too much/little agent. Obviously, a cheap single stage paint will need flex agent. However, if you get a good 2 stage paint it should not require flex agent.

I had my front bumper repainted twice in a little over a year, so it does happen.

My friend got his painted 4 times within the first year of owning his 3800 firebird.

NOT one time was it his fault either.... Don't ask me what red cars, and stupid people hitting them are, but he got hit 4 times while stopped, and everytime the other person was at fault, and was cited for the accident.
