• Cleaning wax off plastic?

Are there any good ways to go about cleaning wax off plastic? I tried some various things around my garage. Plastic cleaner, alcohol, MS, spray nine, a few other substances. Nothing seems to take it off. I have some extra wax around my windshield wipers, and on my grille. Is there anything that works good for getting it off. I was reluctant to try MEK even though im sure it'll take it off, it's not safe around paint.

if you are refering to the white residue from the wax on black plastic. at work we use this black plastic paint to repaint it. just rub it on and it re dyes the plastic. it also works if the buffer rubbed the plastic or if it has fadded from the sun. hope this helps. also try just tire shine. it will cover it up until you can paint it.

No, you don't need to repaint it.
I've 'heard' that peanut butter works to take off wax residue. You can also try heating it up and using a toothpick on it. Another great product to try is Mothers Back to Black.

Try Trim Shine, I use this on my wipers, grill, and headlights, I use it about twice a month and it keeps them black.

lol listen, want to know how to get it off?

put some wd-40 on a tooth brush and just rub the area. if that doesnt do it, wet a spot on a rag with wd-40 and rub it on the spot with the wax. this will 100% gaureteed take it off. I get wax all over when i wax, i use wd-40 all the time to take it off of plastic.

Meguiar's has some trim detailer, it seems to work really well, and leave a dark finish.

Baby oil. It works! Body shop trick.
Rub it all over (not just where the wax is) and you're black plastic or rubber will shine like never before.
