• Just had my car painted...

I just got my car back from the shop I was in a recent accident i totaled the car, anyway when the car was being repainted they some how got paint mist all over every inside the car, on the plastic pannels in the trunk, all over the floors, and some on the seats. It was a cheap fix, guess thats why he didnt take time to cover the interior with a blanket or anything. Does anyone know what i could use to scrub the paint off of the plastic and floor? Really need help with this, Thanks

Check your exhaust tips and wheels? Gotta wonder if he took the wheels off or did a shoddy job masking them.

take it back to them. unless you had your friend do it for free or something, take it back and have them fix it. that should not have happened.

You can't get that paint off the pastic parts in our cars.

If you try to clean the vinyl on the dash or steering wheel the black color of the Vinyl will come off along with the paint.

You might be in a lot deeper than you think... take it back to them and see what they can do.

Thanks for your help all, he proabably did a really shotty job, because my rear passenger tire also had paint on it when i got the car back. I tried black magic and some other sprays to get the blue out of the plastic it actually worked pretty well, cant really see the blue haze anymore, and i used a spot remover for the carpets and that also worked okay, but i am going over friday to talk to the auto body guy and ask him how he got some of the paint in the interior.

Did he paint the car a differnt color. I don't see any reason to paint anything inside the car if he didn't. Maybe he was worried about painting you windows so he just rolled them down Good to hear you got most of it out though, this might be a good time to paint some interior parts. Let us know what you find out.

Holy crap, that sounds like something maaco would do. Yea, where I work at we spend a lot of time making sure everything is masked off perfectly so we don't get any overspray all over nothing. It seems like they put your windows down otherwise there would be overspray on the windows (which is actually better because you can just take that off with a razor blade). Sorry to hear about your interior though, I would definatley take it back to them and ask them to get the overspray off of anything else. If the insurance company paid for the job they can also help you fix anything that went wrong.
