color changing glass, unique question

this is a weird question but has anyone ever seen windows or glass that can be clear one minute but you could push a button or something and turn the glass a white or smoke color. in the movie sum of all fears when ryan is taken to that room for a secret conference the glass room is clear one second then turns to a white smoke color the next. i was wondering if they sold that stuff because it would look awesome on our car windows. :cool:

That's a type of liquid crystals, I believe. I've been in offices that have them.

Here's a link. The pic is exactly what I've seen in offices. I've never heard of it in cars. I'd hate to go driving down the road and all of a sudden have my windshield go opaque! [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img]
