  • Chrome Wheel Care

Hello all. I just recently purchased some stock Chrome 5 spoke wheels off a 2000 Camaro and put them on my 95. I got them for a steal at only $300 and they are mint - Im very pleased with them. I went through hell to get them on though - feel free to ask. Anyways Ive never had Chrome wheels before and I live in Michigan where we have to deal with snow, ice and salt. Do I need to treat my rims with anything to protect them from the elements of winter? My camaro is a daily driver and I will be driving it in the winter. Thanks in advance.

yes if ur going to use them in winter use some kind of treatment on them...i know what ur going through to with the daily driver thing my bird is too, and if u want my honest opinion I wouldnt use them in winter because that road salt is HARSH. lol so i hope this helps but yea if u use em in winter clean them everyday and treat them with a wheel care for chrome rims even if u dont wah ur car everyday doo the rims

I drive my car in the winter here and i have chrome rims. All I do is wash them down with some warm water every other day, keeps the salt off and doesnt bother them. If you are really worried about it, put some vasoline on them while driving and keep it on there, it'll keep everything off.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I will probably get some kind of wax/polish protectant and just wash them constantly. Maybe I shouldn't have sold the stock rims on ebay........
