• How can I get the best look?

Hey... I'm Jennifer and I am new to the message board. I have been really excited about talking to everybody! I have a '94 Medium Green Metallic Camaro. When I bought the car, it was in perfect condition. It was never driven in the winter, and the paint was beatiful. Now the paint in get small scratches in it and becoming dull. I live in Michigan, so snow is bad here. When the spring comes and my car can be cleaned well, I was wondering about what products you guys (and gals) recommend for me to use to try to get the imperfections out as much as possible. I want to try to make the paint look better. I know the best thing would probably be a new paint job... but the $$. Also, when I had waxed my car, I used Meguir's Gold Class Wax. Any other recommendations?
6 Bangers can be bad too :)
Jenni M.
\'94 3.4L Medium Green Metallic Camaro

a little turtle wax and some elbow grease (when it gets warmer) never hurt anybody.

a lot of people on here swear by the clay bar (even over buffing compound)... i've never tried it myself but the results i have seen are pretty sweet.

Check out Zainobros.com good information there. I've been useing Zaino for years.Plus you have to use a good towels that's just as important as the waxs or polish you use.Use only 100% cotton towels like Filedcrest not the cheap towels from wal-mart or k-mart or very good microfiber towels like from dftowels.com

a lot of people here swear by zaino
but its a little too pricey for me, ive always used meguires or mothers with very good results
it depends a lot on how much effort you actually put into it
hope this helps

First...Welcome

Now I swear by using a clay bar and a paint cleaner(reduces swirls). Then I use Liquid Glass...its a polish as opposed to a wax but it has the gloss of a wax and I have gone almost a year without putting on another coat...pics can be seen in my sig and that was about a week after I put the polish on. 100% cotton is the only way to go...make sure it is made in the USA otherwise the binding may not be made out of cotton...just the loops.

Hey... thanks! It's really cool cause I used to live on 1st Ave. in Phoenixville PA (I am originally from PA). Small world! Thanks for the replies, and I will consider all the replies I hear. Sumpter is near Belleville, mind you, MI is a very boring state most of the time. I will try to get a picture up... if I can find one. Clay bars seem to be popular from what you all say.

I always though zaino was pretty expensive too...but then I sprung and got some anod trust me YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...after using zaino I would never go back to the paste wax that i used before (mostly meguires gold class) For big scracthes meguires scratch-x works pretty good too.

p.s. Welcome to the board ;)

I started using zaino as well it works wonders. little costly... its not so much the shine but the feel fo the car, its smoother then glass.. but takes alot of work.

but if you want to be affordable...

Zymol its light blue... It was ranked high in consumer guides

I personally will swear by Zymol in the traditional use waxes, but best overall I woudl do zaino.

Zymol with a crappy camera...

http://www.mustangeater825.50megs.co...y/DSC00002.jpg

I used zaino about month ago(before new years), but washed the car yesterday and took this pic.

http://www.mustangeater825.50megs.co...s/IMG_0197.JPG

I personally think the shine is awesome after being parked outdoors in teh Florida sun for a month. Zymol worked great but it did not hold up the constant shine like Zaino did, and Zaino flat out detroys Zymol at night time under street lights.

long story short...

willing to put alot of work and time... total Zaino kit, (claybar, Z5, Z2, with ZFX, Z6, Z7 car wash, 100% cotton towels)

Traditional waxing best shine...
Zymol, wash, wax on(do whole car) then wax off. not as good as zaino, but alot less work alot less cheaper, and better then any traditional wax I ever used.

hope I helped...

feel free to hit me up on AIm (MustangEater82) if you have any questions... I love to help the 3.4L people out all the time
