Hey guys, I'm new here, does anyone know an easy way to get the stock "Firebird" off of the doors?
I'm getting ones off a 98+ 'Bird and wanted to know if I could do it without screwing it up.
Thanks!

Very easy (and very good looking) mod. You need a few things: hair dryer, bottle of goo gone (sold at walmart), fishing line, and a not to sharp scraping tool (I used a plastic ice scraper)
Heat the letters with the hair dryer for a good 20-30 sec each (if the letters don't come of easy, heat longer), use the fishing line as kind of a saw, and just saw a letter at a time off, use the scraper to get the majority of the black stickey crap off (you can use the hair dryer on it too) then after all letters are off go back over it all with goo gone, it'll remove whatever is left, and won't affect paint. Good luck.
edit: I see you're from FL, so you've probably never heard of an ice scraper, try a credit card or something maybe. I wouldn't a knife though, might scratch the paint.

razor blade works the best. IE the type you use for a utility knife. Trust me, I use them ALL the time at work - as long as you keep the blade straight and flat against the paint theres NO way you will scratch it. I use them to take emblems, vinyl, and stickers off of cars we take in on trade and or thru auction from rival dealerships so we can put our own on there!

Do people just accept that those badges or sticker come on the cars from the dealer, or do some ask to have them taken off? They don't use those things here, and I really wouldn't want one on my car. The license plate frame from the dealer is enough.

I wouldn't suggest using the razor blade unless you have some experience. It is WAY to easy to screw up your paint with one. Just wear a leather or cotton glove and "roll" it off with your fingers. You can also use WD-40 and alcohol to help remove the adhesive residue. The alcohol, and probably the Goo Gone, will remove any wax you may have on that area so you will need to rewax when finished.
Edit: Just a suggestion.
I also removed the door moldings. It looks really good, though it does make it easier to get door dings.
