  • So some a-hole hit my car...

The rear bumper was hit on the left side and it's caved in. Luckily, the parking lot guys think they have a license number so I might get lucky. Does anyone know how much it will cost to replace the rear bumper?

ebay cost, with shipping, ~ 175-250

they are like 400 from dealership
    then you gotta paint

be around 400-500 for a aftermarke bumper and a dealer paint job

300-350 with aftermarket and maaco paint job, which I highly dont recomend

Thanks man... I heard 1-day-paint was not a bad option when it came to painting specific parts.

my buddy wrecked his formula one time and the aftermarket fender he bought was a POS, the paint wouldnt stick to it, after a few days it was already peeling off, the painter tried to fix it and it just wouldnt stick.....im not sure where he got it from...

sounds more like a pad paint job than a bad bumper.

you have to prep before you paint, what it sounds like is that the bumper was just painted with no prep.. very bad paint job, bumper dont have anything to do with it

I was talking to the guy who did the work to my car and he said that some of the aftermarket parts come with some kind of coating on them that has to be removed or it'll cause the paint to peel off. But aftermarket parts aren't as good as OEM, but they can look just as good. My Z has 2 aftermarket and the v6 has one aftermarket fender and the front bumper is aftermarket. If someone didn't know, I'd like to see them try to figure out which ones are aftermarket and which ones aren't.
