Compound???

Hey, just a little quick question... I'm having an argument with another, older memeber of my household who doesn't think it is a good idea to compound my car because they say it can take off the paint if you do it too much in one spot. Is this true?? what i should i do then, scratch remover instead?? Everybody i know uses compound

it is not reccomeneded to often use rubbing compound on clear cote paint.

every once in a while, done right, is alright to remove the crap that gets in the paint, but since it is abrasive, and the factory clear is thin, you run the risk of going through the clear.

This is also only used properely with a high speed buffer, something that most people don't have.

you may not need to compound...if your finish is that bad you may need to wetsand it...for fallout and normal junk a claybar when used correctly will work out just fine

Well, i am putting it up for sale tommorrow. What would you guys suggest for me to go over the outside and rid of some of the minor surface scratches and swirl marks (there are a lot)???
