I myself use simple green to spray down the entire bay. I wait a few minutes, and then spray it all off. Then go back and dry everything off, and finally clean up the hoses and all with a mothers detailing spray.

Hey man, was the red paint on the inside just dull and dirty? Do you polish it? Or just clean? What do you use? Looks great.

use an engine degreaser and let it sit for about 10 mins. then use a water hose, preferably letting the water just trickle out of the hose, to wash off the degreaser. use a towel to soak up as much water as you can. then spray on some eagle 1 tire wet or that black magic stuff. spray it all over the place. let it sit a few mins then wash it off with the hose; again letting it just trickle out. then use a towel to soak up the excess water and tire wet. it should look like a brand new engine.

Well as of today i can now say that I *USE* to detail and clean a lot of jets in my time. I don't know if it's true or not but we always thought or heard of a myth that simple green corroded over time. So we stopped using it, i use to love that stuff. I found that spray nine works a lot better. I mentioned it earlier on this board that i liked to use it on my engine and some other things to get it really clean but a lot of people kept saying it was an abrasive and all this other crap and told me not to wash my car with it and made it a big deal when all i was saying was that it can get the engine pretty clean, i deleted the post anyway, didn't feel like trying to explain 5 times what i meant. If you guys know what simple green is, it's kind of like that, just like a degreaser almost, same idea. Anyway i've been using it over a year now, on about 15 different jets. And my car, which i'm very teadeous about so im not gonna use a harmful product. If some of you guys wanna make the switch i would definatley try spray nine. Works great for me.

It seems like my engine bay is covered in a layer of dust after a few runs to the store and it pisses me off! Another thing that bugs me is my valve covers were letting a little oil through and we all know what that turns into.... that syrup mixture of dirt, oil, and god knows what else. what should i cover up before using a hose on the engine? I don't want to be spraying my radiator down and the likes so.... hehe

I'm ready to try for a clean engine bay again
