Anyone know how much, ballpark figure, it would cost to have a custom cowl induction hood made? Not necessarily for a Firebird or Camaro, but for say... (I know this'll sound crazy) for like a Benz SLK32. Fiberglass, whatever... it doesn't really matter. Any ideas? Thanks.

Custom Hood?

too much... I talked to fiberglass fabrications about a custom hood in the Ultra-Z style hood from SLP. They wouldnt give me a price but they said that a custom mold is VERY expensive. Your best bet is to find 10-15 people who want it and tell a fiberglass hood producer about it. If they can make money on it they will do it... ( I am still waiting on fiberglass fabrications to add a new design close to the Ultra-Z hood ( SLP sucks on shipping ( my LSD took over a week for next day shipping ) and I have heard bad stories about their service department )). So I dont feel like spending 650 + shippong on a SLP hood, and I dont know about the new mold with FF... If one isnt available and there isnt much of a market, then you are SOL unless you want to pay over a thousand...
Even with a Benz let us know what you end up with

Find a place that does custom ground effects & the like...
Might be hard to find, but they are out there...
You could get a hood put together there.
