Mine is not functional yet :( , but it will be once I get my ram air built. it can be functual, you have to buy a kit to do it. check this out, 2nd pic on the first page you can see the air box that allows it to be functional.

maybe its just me, but I LOVE the plain old stocker 93-97 bird hood. That is actually why I was very specific in buying a 97 instead of a newer bird. *shrugs*
