  • SLP Ultra-Z hood

not too long ago i posted a thread asking opinions on a camaro.. this camaro had the SLP Ultra-Z hood..a hood rarely seen, which i've always thought is one of the best looking hoods for a 98+ camaro out there. second only to the SS hood which of course is better

the only thing is, most of us here dont have a SS.. i wouldnt put an SS hood on a V6 because its just not an SS. while not as bad as putting SS badges on it still doesnt sit right

now.. in this thread where i asked for opinions on this camaro, i was surpised to find that a good number of people commented that they did not like the hood.. i was surprised, i was unaware that this hood was not more universally accepted

I don't like it at all. But it's better than that ugly Stingray hood I've seen a few times. But if you want it, then get it. It's your car.

That hood looks great, but the SS hood looks a lot better. Buying an SS hood isnt ricey or posing if you ask me, just as long as you dont badge it.

thats fine if you feel that way

not me though, i know drivin down the road with an SS hood people would be thinkin: "hey look its an SS".. i dont want that

yeah, it is functional if you get the airbox with it from SLP and make the intake tubing work.

screw that, its functional with the stock airbox.. but i'm sure you get better airflow through a custom airbox

look where its located, right in front where our airbox is.. thats one thing it has over an SS hood.. its directly into the airbox instead of a roundabout path of air

looks very nice, go with your own gut feelings on what to do with your car. do it to make yourself happy, not to impress the cyber world.
