• Silverstars + Blackouts = Visibility?

I plan on fully stealthing out my car (as I've said in the past if you might remember...) My car is black and I want to add dark tint, head and taillight blackouts, blinker and fog lamp blackouts... maybe black rims.

I really would prefer to always leave the headlight blackouts on... I know it doesn't take long to take them off, but I would like to avoid a daily ritual of taking them off if I can get lamps bright enough.

...or maybe if I installed HID or something? What is that all about and why would I need a kit just to install some kinda bright light?

    Thanks!

Why don't you search yahoo to see how HID's work. The blackouts seriously dim any light coming out at all....I would doubt if even HID's would make it visible enough to see at night.

Man.. it seems like with their extreme brightness it would help... also... you are talking to the guy who forgot to take his sunglasses of at night a few times. lol... I had worn them so long I didn't even notice/care when it got dark. Perhaps they would be dim but not too dim with the HIDs :/... Anyone with personal experience?

Well is it possible to make your fog lights like your headlights then? I mean... it seems like it could work right? Or... is it just not capable with the circuitry?

What kind of bulbs do I need to look for to have them bright enough to be used as headlights?

I think it'd be really cool to be able to go stealth if I wanted just for a bit or something... With full blackouts.. I could just switch to my brights... then the foglights a.k.a. "my headlights" turn off and the car is totally black.

Pretty sure there are legal specs for headlights....in my state its required that they are so many feet off the ground and pointed at such an angle. Fog lights also have a spec but I don't remember what they specify. Besides....your vehicle won't be completely blacked out if your foglights aren't blacked out as well. Too high of a power of light might melt your fog lamp too.

I know it won't be completely blacked out if I do that... but I'd rather have only my fog lamps not blacked out and not have to ever take anything off rather than being fully blacked out and having to take my headlight blackouts off all the time...

Also if I do that I can always put the fog lamp blackouts on if I want.

Soo...... Does anyone know the best light I can get that won't melt the light?

I'm making a seperate topic with an idea I have.

What's so cool about turning off all your lights temperarily while you are driving?? Why do you need to turn your highbeams to get a "stealth" look?? Just put a resister inplace of you light sensor and turn off you headlights manually.

Looks like me and you are in the same boat. I already ordered my tail light black outs and im looking at blacking out the head lights and turn signals.

5% tint is getting done this weekend and im saving up to powder coat my salad shooters in black.

O_o....5% Hope you're not doing it on the windsheild! 5% on windsheild at night = death lol.

Nice man, can't wait to see your car. Basically my dad alloted me a certain amount of money for a car.... After buying my car I was about 2500 under that limit... basically he's letting me have the rest to use for mods... but ONLY of he approves them first.

For example yesterday I bought a huge 100% cotton 20-dollar towel from Bed, Bath & Beyond... I didn't ask him about it because I figured it was a no-brainer... I cut it up.. I have like 10 towels to wax with... they won't scratch my paint... and it is what zaino recommends..... Well he's obsessed with me using baby diapers to save money despite what I say about a towel's nap and dragging dirt across my paint.

So basically.... I just really really hope he'll allow me to buy the headlight and taillight blackouts because I don't want to spend 150 bucks or whatever it'll all cost >_<...

Hope it works out! Black = sexay.

my foglights are brighter than my headlights.... I have mistakenly driven around with only my foglights on when i didnt turn the headlights on all the way....
