  • Spray Tint for Blackouts?

    i believe i read it on this board before but i'm not sure. i was wondering if they make such a product and if so where could i get this at and how does it hold up and look?

    yes, it does exist. It's called VHT Niteshades. here's some pics of my car:



    there's about 8-9 coats of paint on there, along with 2-3 coats of clearcoat.

      So can you actually see your lights yet? Seems like this would make it only a show car with no lights.

        I run it on the bird and neon.

        I'm happy
        3 coats here, damn black.

        Looks fine at night though

          where can you buy the stuff at?? also do you have to scuff up the lens at at for it to adhere? also what clear coat did you use??? thanks

            yes, i can see the lights perfectly, day or night. they light up no problem.

            you can buy it at most auto parts stores. you don't need to scuff up the lens, just make sure the lens isn't dirty before you spray. i used Krylon clear coat gloss.

                  i used the same brand clear coat. works great. plus, my auto parts stores never even heard of this crap. you will have a easier time finding it in model car sections at hobby stores. thats where i found mine after days of looking.

                    hmmmm....all the auto parts stores near me heard of it. only one could order it for me, because the rest used FedEx, which won't ship any chemicals.

                      You can get it from Jegs, it's like $9.95 I believe. It's made in Europe or something, that's why most places here don't seem to have it in stock.
