I've been using the Armor All car wax on my car. I recieved it in a gift box of Armor All products for Christmas, and have been satisfied with it. I don't really have the money to buy the Zaino products, so I just use that and it's been pretty much satisfactory. Nothing more, nothing less...

Me too, my car has been clayed a few times since I've bought it, so there is nothing baked into my paint from the sun. After I wash my car, I spray it and wipe it dry. PIECE OF CAKE!! Damn does it save hella time. And it's actually smooth after you dry it. I haven't used any apply/wipe off kinda wax in a year....lol

Meguire's Gold Class has really got it down for me. I use it on the 96 bird as well as our mercury minivan and it really livens up the finish. It also goes on and off pretty easy.

multiple, multiple coats of turtle wax and finish 2000 have kept the red stallion looking fresh...

of course, any wax and polish, used with the proper amount of elbow grease, will look great. all it takes is a little rain and my car looks like it was just washed, even 3-4 weeks after its last rendezvous with the garden hose and bucket

Just tried that new Turtle Wax myself and that stuff works great. Leaves the paint super smooth plus it's not very expensive. Maybe someday I'll try Zaino but I still can't see spending that much money.

This is on my girlfriend's car...

and because I have an open mind, and I know Zaino doesn't impress people as much on light colored cars as it does on dark ones. My girlfriend has a '00 Silver Cavalier. I am not gonna lie and say Zaino is dirt cheap. And figure I am not gonna use twice as much of it, if its not going on my car ;) If I turned down $20 to zaino my dad's vette(something about driving 2.5 hours, polishing my dad's car, then driving back 2.5 hours), I am turning down, giving up my own supply of zaino to do my girlfriend's car.

I am looking to spend less then $10

as for guys putting several coats of Cleaner Waxes on your cars just to warn you, you are not doing anything. Cleaner waxes will take off the previous coat of wax, only benefit to doing more then on coat is to go over the car again to make sure you did not miss any spots.

I have always been biased to Meguires. It shines great for me.

You asked for a opinion on a wax that is durable and relatively cheap. I do think Meguires is your ticket. I do know that it is durable. I have to park down wind of the cooling towers at the plant I work in. My car is tortured with daily mega doses of cooling tower fallout. (Reportedly inert yet smells like bleach...hmmm maybe some of the chlorine is in there...shhhh)

Anyway, meguires holds up to this so I would say it would be a safe bet for normal outside duty of the average car.
