How to keep these stinking gnats off of my car?!

Yesterday I washed my car with dawn, claybarred everything, and washed it with Z7. These bugs must love the smell of Z7 or just like black or something because they get all over my car... so now today I'm going to have to wash it again or try to get them by hitting them with my towel or something... I dunno...

Basically I don't want to put wax on my car if these bugs are going to keep landing on it. What do you guys do about this problem?... does it really matter if a few get on it while I'm polishing? I guess I could always pick them off if they get in the polish.

Is there anywhere you could go that DOESN'T have those bugs? I run into that situation with mosquitoes up here north, so I just usually move it to a place that isn't where I know mosquitoes are and I'm generally fine.

Other than that, I find a garage, usually.

The bugs should be easier to take off with wax on the car - they'll just slide right off when you start driving! ;)

lol, well I've got it all zainoed up! I did everything in Mustang Eater's list except I did one less coat of Z2 (I just did Z5 then Z2)

Looks amazing! The spot that showed up where it had been bondoed and repainted on the hood is now invisible. At the dealers... it was waxed up and stuff... but if you look at the right angle you could see it pretty easily. I haven't looked super close, but it is much much harder to see if visible at all.

The clay bar was amazing too, but it didn't totally get out one bird poop stain on the back.

Woo! It's nice knowing that tar and other crud is off of my paint now.

...and it only took..... wow it took like 10 hours lol [img]tongue.gif[/img] I've never waxed a car in my life let alone do this rocket-science-esque system that is Zaino.
