Anyone have HID look headlights?

How do you like them, what brand and bulb size do you suggest (I got a 98)? Or did you just crack open your headlights and just switch the bulb? I want a more whitish/blue color to my headlights for a brighter light. thanks.

I have real HID's and love them....the 280$price tag hurt a bit but Im happy I spent it...check the sig for pics

They're all over eBay. Very easy to find. Type in "98 camaro" and it'll come back with all different colors of lights, including the HID lookalikes...

I have HIDs too and they are wonderful. I highly recommend the $300 or so to get them.

If you don't want to spend all of that money, try out the Sylvania SilverStar bulbs. I have them and love the look. High Beam # 9005, Low Beam # 9006.

Naxos is the closet I have seen. It gives off as real nice HID blue for cheap. I will get some pics tommorrow when I finish my install on my halo headlights.

actually, the sylvania silverstar bulbs don't work for firebirds. firebirds still have sealed beams in them, but camaros don't. so you either have to do a sealed beam conversion so that you can put regular bulbs in them, then try to splice in camaro connectors to hook up 9005 and 9006 bulbs, or convert to real HID.

I got the conversion headlights so I now use H7 bulbs, so now I have some nice 100x hyperwhite xenons.

Dont we have to buy the whole headlight for our cars (firebird)? I am looking at that HID kit on that site... a little too much tho. LOL But, i like it. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Not sure if they have the kit for the firebird...sorry. I accidentally posted a reply without looking to see what kind of car you have. I think they (autooptiks) have a firebird conversion though.

Yeah, that's where I got mine from. $50 bucks for a set, but it doesn't come with bulbs. I think it's worth it.

If you are electrically inclined, you can look on ebay for the different HID parts, ie ballst, bulbs, wires, and such. Then take apart your sealed beams and implant the HID into it.

Ive been looking into this, and it can be realisticly done for as cheap as 200 bucks.
