• Factory tint... inside the window?

I ask this because... Basically I'm putting 35% tint on the car because that is what is legal. BUT... my bro put 35% on his tahoe... because the rear windows were already tinted and it was IN the window... they actually look more like 20% or something.

If the tint is in the window and not a film... I can tint the window and then it'll be even darker than 35% which is what I really wanted. Also, if a cop ever stopped me for it, I could honestly say that I put 35% on because I wanted to be legal, but ordered the tint before I found out that the tint on my windows is not a film, so I can't remove it.

So what is it? Film or internal or something?

    Thanks!

Wow!! Dude that is so reassuring... I saw other pics of 35% on the net... and it looked like almost see-through. I'm really excited now!!!!

      Yay for factory tint! WOOHOO!!!

Hah, our cars will look a lot alike, except I'm getting full blackouts and want to to be as black as possible (no decals on back like yours)

Maybe even black rims :D I'm much happier now because earlier I was like "Man... Imma have a blacked-out car with see-through windows, but that with factory looks great.

      Anyway, thanks.

Your welcome, the tint was the very first thing I did and I think it was worth it.

I had front black outs on my car before, I'm going for the black n silver look...But if you get the front ones make sure they are down cuz my frist set the one flew off on the highway lol and then my second set my damn ex threw her bag on it and broke it, but don't get worried or anything cuz I think I didn't put it on good enough and that's why it flew off. Ooo you're prob gonna have to take them off at nite cuz it is imposible to see with, I mean hell it's hard enough without em haha. They really make the car look good!

Ever think about getting a black grille? I like the way those look. I got mine from summit racing, It's a grillecraft n cost like 140..that kinda sucked but it was worth it!

Lemme know when you get some pics I think the black outed look will look awesome!

The window "tint" is not really tint...its just something that happens because of the window...it is usually about 80% light transmission which will bring your 35% down to about 28%. You should be careful because I put 35% on my car and it measured at 25% which is illegal in Oregon...35% total transmission is the total transmission limit not the film limit. Now that I have moved to Washington it is 35% film, 24% total.

^Yup. When I tinted my side windows we aimed for the overall to be just above 32%. Here in NC 35% is legal +/- 3%. With the new inspections you really have no choice or opportunity to tell the officer your story, unless you know someone to inspect your car and pass the tint level. Now my back... 20% on top of factory.

yea i got 35% on mine and the guy said with the factory tint it would be about 29% so he had to let me know it was illegal. its been like 5 months now tho and ive been pulled over twice and no1 has said nething so i guess its all good.

i have 35% on the sides, its alot lighter than the 20 on the back, i thought it was a little bit light at first, but look at a car with no tint, and its really dark
