  • A pillar Question

I just ordered A pillar guages from jegs.
Now my question is what is the best way to run them besides drilling through the firewall?

It depends what you have. I got an a/f gauge a few weeks ago that I installed. Man what a pain in the ***. I didn't mind modifying the a-pillar panel for the pod to clear it. But the gauge was too big that it rubs up against the actual a-pillar. So my whole panel can't sit completley on there. I got it to where most of it is clipped in, but you can see a little bit of the pinched weld part from underneath the panel. Nothing that anybody would really notice. As for the routing. I ran the inverter (power and ground) to the light switch. I ran the power to the actual gauge to the fuse box (I got a terminal and connected it into the IGN location). And the ground and sensor wire, I ran all the way underneath the dash and out of the grommet on the passenger's side. The ground I connected to that junction near the battery. And the sensor I ran down the engine bay past the passenger manifold and to the pre o2 sensor on the cat. I'm sure you can find another descent ground, but i had an old manual fanswitch wiring that I used since it was already there. And since I had to run the sensor wire all the way over there anyway I figured, what the heck, i'll run the ground with it. Just make sure you have millions of wire tires, lol. And if you need any help man, please don't hesitate to email me at zennx@yahoo.com for anything regarding a/f installation. I spent a lot of time looking for help when I had to install it, and it's pretty hard searching through everything and doing trial and error. Good luck.
