i did a search on this a few weeks ago and i cant find it right now but i will still look and wait for the moderator to see this. he helped me out alot.
A little. I am not doing the work myself local guy willing to do it, he was one of the first people to really start doing them on the v8 boards and we went over the procedure last night, doesn't look too hard, he has done it more hten once and he offered to do it as long as I do th faovr and pay for parts
mine's been done for over a year now and no leaks or anything. i took the pictures down, but i can put them all back up again if you are going to do the work yourself and need to look.
i spent less than $300, but i had to buy a reciprocating saw, rivet tool, and stuff like that. i got lucky in the parts price. they were only $150 from a '99.
i love it. best thing i ever did to my car. after 3 years of driving it hardtop, it was a huge difference.

w3rd , i had my car for almost 5 years , then over spring break i did my conversion, really easy, and not very time consuming
i spent 200$ on all the parts, and i did all the work in 2 days, besides painting it (and i took my sweet time)
i know tacreations used to sell the kits , but i think they were upwards or 400$ and didnt include a headliner (and they are like 100something from a dealer)
where do you get teh headliner and other stuff? do you just go to the junkyard and practically cut the roof off and take it home for the parts?? how much do you think it would cost total?? thanks in advance.

I actually was gonna hit you up for some questions..
Just last night met up with 5literEater(he is on other boards, used to have an electron blue z/28) Either way we had been talking for awhile about doing it to my car and he woudl do it for me if I gave him a decent amount of movie tickets and provided the parts he has tools. I was jsut curious on some general thoughts of peopel after they did it.
I have had hardtop f-bodies since '98
just be happy you arent doing it yourself... its freaky as hell taking a sawzall to the roof of your car. but im with mr domestic violence. i just wish i had done it sooner
im looking into it too. how much do you guys think a gm shop would do it if i supplied all the parts? i was thin k of just yanking them off a junked camaro headliner and all. i dont think i could trust myself not to mees up but i probably will do it myself just cause gm will carge more than my car is worth.LOL
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
