  • I hate ZAINO!!

Not only do they make a great product, but it smells too damned nice:
Z2 - Smells vaguely like cherries
    Z5 - A lot like bananas.
That, and they MADE me wax my whole car. I just wanted to give it a shot and wax my hood, but even with the additive I have to wait a half hour before I can buff the wax off. What the hell, I might as well wax the sides in that half hour. And so on and so on.

Well, I did 1 coat of Z2, one of Z5 then another of Z2. The car looks damned nice. At one point I had the hood up and was buffing the hatch, I noticed that I could not only see the hood, but I could see the reflection of the garage door above the car off of the hood off of the trunk!

Looking back at all the waxes I've used:
NuFinish - Doesn't count I only used on the truck which doesn't have a clearcoat finish.
Mothers - Ok wax. Decent shine and finish. Car felt fairly slick after claybaring and waxing. It faded too fast for my likes.
Zymol or something like that - I bought this wax in a two pack from Costco. Was looking for something better than mothers. This was a total waste of money and time.
Gold Class - Bought but never used
NXT - REALLY HAPPY with this wax. Long shine and sheen. Car felt really slick (would slide leaned on) after this wax, but only lasted about a week. The wax held for many months at a time. (of course I live in California so with little rain and being garaged the car only really got dusty) Very happy with this wax.
Zaino - DAMN! A+ for shine. But the car doesn't feel any where near as slick. Will see how long it holds up.

Final vote. If you don't want to shell out the money for Zaino, I would HIGHLY recommend NXT and a claybar.

Pics will come soon (I hate digital, so I have to beg/borrow/steal a digital from a coworker).

I definately agree with you about NXT and a claybar if you dont want to spend money on Zaino.

Today I washed, claybarred spots that needed it, filled in a few chips with touch up paint (and wetsanded it down), used Z2, Z5 (on the wetsanded
spots) and Z6. Bugs love the Z6 smell I think.

Did you follow up with Z2? (I found that one out after READING THE INSTRUCTIONS....) I put 2 coats of Z2 on my hood then broke out the Z5. After reading the back it said that no matter what you start with, you should end with Z2 as it has a deeper shine or something like that. So it was 4 coats on the hood and 3 everywhere else.

I love the stuff, anyof you guys have the carwash? Z7 that stuff smells great.

BTW, as for it taking forever ot dry, you are likely using too much. They say a 1/4 of a oz, is enough to do an entire coat.

I haven't been able to master that but with ZFX, and I use a little less then they reccomend, and it drys out on the car in like 20 minutes.

It recommended 1/2hr, so that's what I gave it. It dried out a little quicker, but I figured first time give it a while.

With the 2 coats of Z2 I used just under 1oz. I could have done better, but it was the first time.

</font>[/QUOTE]I have left it on my car for like an hour or two, even overnight.

I usually put a coat on and go shopping with the girl, hang out with some friends, and let my car sit in the garage and take my dad's vette out.

But wanting to take my car somewhere I had a coat only on for 20 minutes and it was fully dry. They say when it isn't it still feels greasy.

You are saying which of the following:

                  A. Do not claybar before Zaino
                  B. Do claybar before Zaino
                  C. Claybarring a car removes the wax to help Zaino stick.
